The formulas

ROASRevenue ÷ Ad spend
Break-even ROAS1 ÷ Profit margin
CPAAd spend ÷ Conversions
CPMAd spend ÷ Impressions × 1,000

Worked example

You spend SAR 15,000 and the ads bring in SAR 54,000 of sales: ROAS is 54,000 ÷ 15,000 = 3.6×. With a 40% margin you break even at 1 ÷ 0.40 = 2.5×, so the campaign earns SAR 54,000 × 0.40 − 15,000 = SAR 6,600 profit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good ROAS?

It depends on your margin. A business with a 40% margin breaks even at 2.5× ROAS (1 ÷ 0.40); anything above that is profit. Many e-commerce brands aim for 3–4×.

What's the difference between ROAS and ROI?

ROAS compares revenue to ad spend. ROI also accounts for your product and delivery costs, so it shows the actual profit.

What is a typical CPC in Saudi Arabia?

It varies widely by industry and platform — from under SAR 1 for broad social campaigns to SAR 20 or more for competitive search terms in finance, legal and B2B software.
